How SafeHomes came about

The idea for this program originated at a La Cañada High School PTA and Community Prevention Council meeting June 4, 2003 following a shooting incident at a local post prom party. The program is endorsed by the LCUSD School District, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, The LCF Community Center, Tom Sawyer Camps, The Crescenta-Canada YMCA, The La Cañada PTA Council, and many churches and organizations in the Crescenta-Canada community.
